HISTORY: On a trip back east, Bob visited his mother in Pennsylvania. He walked out of the house one beautiful fall day and came face to face with the handsomest blue jay he had ever seen. There they were -- eye to eye -- only about six feet apart. Bob felt almost as though he were in touch with another human being. This cocky jay was beautiful and powerful that Bob captured the memory, and this figurine is the result. GENERAL: Bob feels this colorful figurine summarizes what miniature art is all about. This sculpture has more of a natural wildness than any of the other birds he has carved. He has achieved an inner presence and created a visually clear image. The blue jay is slightly turned so that his textured back and tail feathers are visible from the front. Every feather on the bird is carefully textured. The jay was then placed against the vivid fall colors, creating a high-intensity collage. There is no more to be said about his incredible blending of color. The figurine speaks for itself.
SIGNED: In the back on top of the base.
